Scott Miller Presents at International Association of Chiefs of Police Legal Officers Training
On May 5, 2022, municipal and police law attorney Scott Miller presented to attorneys from all over the world on best practices for legal advisors when responding to police involved critical incidents. His seminar was part of the week-long International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP) Legal Officers Spring Training in Nashville, Tenn.
The IACP is the world’s largest and most influential professional association for police leaders. With more than 31,000 members in over 165 countries, the IACP is a recognized leader in global policing, committed to advancing safer communities through thoughtful, progressive police leadership. Since 1893, the association has been serving communities worldwide by speaking out on behalf of law enforcement and advancing leadership and professionalism in policing worldwide. The Legal Officers Section assists in the establishment of professional standards, assistance, and cooperation among attorneys who provide legal advice or representation to law enforcement administrators.
Scott’s 24 years of law enforcement experience means he knows first-hand the issues surrounding legal issues involving police officers, and his depth of litigation and defense experience make him uniquely qualified to advise officers and departments on responding to difficult situations, and helping prevent them from happening. He works hard to minimize the disruption that litigation can have on a police officer’s ability to effectively enforce the law and protect the community.
