Cole secures unanimous council vote on police disciplinary hearing
Charles Cole secured a unanimous vote from the Radcliff City Council on a police disciplinary hearing. On October 28, Cole appeared before the Radcliff City Council and its Mayor for a police disciplinary hearing against a police officer on charges of inefficiency that were filed by the Chief of Police pursuant to Kentucky Revised Statute 95.450, which still has meaning despite the General Assembly’s recent revisions to KRS 15.520 (commonly known as Kentucky’s Police Officer’s Bill of Rights).
A unanimous decision (6-0) was made by the City Council, so that a vote from the Mayor was not required. The disciplined officer has 30 days to file an appeal of this decision to the Hardin Circuit Court.
