A trial lawyer for more than four decades, Pat’s practice focuses on the defense of hospitals, health care providers and nursing homes, and mediation services. He has tried many medical malpractice cases to jury verdict and defended numerous personal injury cases over the course of his legal career. He was named Lexington’s 2015 Medical Malpractice Defense “Lawyer of the Year” and 2016 Personal Injury Defense “Lawyer of the Year” by U.S. News−and the Best Lawyers in America®.

Pat is a Fellow and former Kentucky State Chair of The American College of Trial Lawyers. He served as Regional Director of the Defense Research Institute, serving the region that includes Kentucky, Tennessee and Mississippi. He has been President of the Kentucky Defense Counsel and the State Representative of DRI. Pat has also been a member of the American Association for Justice, the Kentucky Justice Association, the Defense Research Institute and the Kentucky Defense Counsel for more than 30 years.

Applying the wealth of trial and practical experience he’s acquired over the course of his legal career, Pat is an experienced mediator. As a court-approved mediator, Pat has mediated hundreds of cases involving personal injury, complex torts, medical malpractice and nursing home claims, as well as contracts and other business disputes.
