Sarah Charles is being recognized for her work helping to establish the FCBA Attorney Wellness Program (AWP), designed as a safe harbor for attorneys to address normal life difficulties in a confidential and professional environment. Research by the national Centers for Disease Control & Prevention shows that lawyers experience depression and substance abuse at higher rates than the general population and may be at a greater risk for self-harm. The AWP contracts with a group of licensed mental health professionals to provide confidential emergency and non-emergency counseling to active attorney members of the Fayette County Bar Association.

Sarah Charles has been recognized by U.S. News Best Lawyers in America for Healthcare Law, and has published numerous articles on developments in healthcare and corporate law.  An experienced health care and corporate law attorney, Sarah Charles provides legal counsel on a broad range of matters to many segments of the healthcare industry, including physicians and provider groups, outpatient clinics, addiction recovery programs, third party administrators, ERISA self-funded employee welfare benefit plans, hospital systems, and businesses that support the healthcare industry. A significant portion of her practice involves advising clients on state and federal regulatory compliance matters. Additionally, Sarah Charles regularly organizes and advises commercial and professional business entities and non-profit charitable organizations.
