Firm Library Dedicated to Don Sturgill

The Don S. Sturgill Library was officially dedicated today, with a reception and portrait unveiling. Don's wife, Ann (who was also a partner with the firm), was present and delighted with the portrait commissioned for the occasion. It was made from a picture taken of Don at Keeneland, commemorating his legacy as a thoroughbred owner and breeder and one of the nation's foremost equine attorneys. Don, along with Gardner Turner and Roy Moreland, founded the firm on April 15, 1957. Don passed in 2002, and every year since we have honored him with a bourbon toast on the last business day of the year. Now we'll honor his memory every day through the Don S. Sturgill Library.
