Barker & Moloney admitted to the National Academy of Distinguished Neutrals

Sturgill, Turner, Barker & Moloney, PLLC is pleased to announce that Lexington mediators Stephen L. Barker and Donald P. “Pat” Moloney II have been invited to join the National Academy of Distinguished Neutrals. Membership is by invitation only and limited to attorney mediators and arbitrators who have proven experience in the field. All Academy members have been thoroughly reviewed and found to meet stringent practice criteria.

Steve Barker is a seasoned mediator who has mediated a wide variety of employment and business disputes, as well as domestic relations cases. With four decades of litigation experience in the areas of employment law and education law, Steve was named Lexington metropolitan area 2023 “Lawyer of the Year” by Best Lawyers in America® for Mediation, and has been named Lexington’s 2011, 2013, 2014, 2016, and 2021 Employment “Lawyer of the Year.” Steve is also an experienced arbitrator capable of conducting binding arbitration, either as a sole arbiter or as part of an arbitration panel.

Applying the wealth of trial and practical experience he’s acquired over the course of his legal career, Pat Moloney is an experienced mediator. As a court-approved mediator, Pat has mediated hundreds of cases involving personal injury, complex torts, medical malpractice and nursing home claims, as well as contracts and other business disputes. A trial lawyer for more than four decades, Pat’s litigation practice focuses on the defense of hospitals, health care providers and nursing homes, in addition to his mediation services. He has tried many medical malpractice cases to jury verdict and defended numerous personal injury cases over the course of his legal career. He was named Lexington’s 2015 and 2021 Medical Malpractice Defense “Lawyer of the Year” and 2016 Personal Injury Defense “Lawyer of the Year” by U.S. News Best Lawyers in America®.
